Arrival Day: Rome. What better place to begin the Best of the Mediterranean than in one of the most beautiful cities in the world - the “Eternal City” of Rome! We’ll meet your flight and escort you to your first-class hotel in Rome. This isn’t a riding day, but we’ll introduce you to your motorcycle so you can familiarize yourself with it. In the evening, we’ll enjoy a kick-off celebration dinner at a fine Italian restaurant.
Days 2-3: Positano. For our second night we’ll enjoy a two-night stay in the famous seaside town of Positano – “The Jewel of the Amalfi Coast”. Enjoy shopping in a city which has earned a reputation in the fashion world. Meander through the narrow alley ways, going from shop to shop, searching for a souvenir of your wonderful holiday. Or, spend additional time in the saddle, riding the beautiful coastal roads of the Amalfi Coast.
You may choose to use your time on your free day to take a cruise to the lovely “Isle of Capri” and see the famous “Blue Grotto”.
Day 4: Matera. With it’s fascinating cave churches, Matera is widely recognized as one of the most extraordinary spots on earth. The area has been recognized as such by UNESCO, and is listed among its 365 official World Heritage locations. You can visit more than 150 of these fascinating structures just beyond the southeastern edge of town.

Day 5: Bari/Patras Overnight Ferry Crossing. More than just a ferry crossing, the crossing from Bari to Patras will make you feel that you’ve had an Adriatic Cruise as part of your Ayres Adventure. You’ll enjoy a nice dinner on your overnight passage to Greece.
Day 6: Olympia, Greece. A beautiful ride from the disembarkation point in Patras to the fabled Greek town of Olympia is a great way to begin you exploration of Greece. Olympia is located on the banks of the Kladeos River in the Alphios Valley, the site of the ancient Olympic Games, which were celebrated every four years by the Greeks. Our hotel is located close to the most famous archeological sites: the Olympic Stadium, the sanctuary of Zeus, the Temple of Hera and the archaeological museum.
Day 7: Mani. Mani is a veritable treasure trove of Byzantine and post Byzantine churches, castles and stunning scenery. This is still one of the least-visited areas in Greece, but the area is surrounded by stunning roads and beautiful landscapes.
Day 8: Nafplion. You’ll enjoy your stop in Napflion, a charming city with a spectacular waterfront, many small streets and historic buildings, and a fortress that overlooks another fort in the middle of the harbor.
Days 9-10: Athens. Athens, the enchanting capital of Greece, is credited with being the birthplace of civilization – the city where democracy was born.
More than any other European capital, Athens is famous for it’s nightlife. After spending the day visiting the city’s many important archaelogical sites and museums, and strolling through the city’s shopping areas, prepare yourself for some great dining and nightly entertainment.
Day 11: Delphi. After the Acropolis, Delphi is the most popular archaeological site in all of Greece. In ancient times, Delphi was considered the center of the known world, the place where heaven and earth met. This was the place on earth where man was closest to the gods.
Delphi sits on the edge of a cliff and there are many beautiful views of the valley, as well as numerous great restaurants, small shops and cafes.

Day 12: Kalambaka. Kalambaka is world famous because of the monasteries that are built on the tops of the Meteora rocks, located around the north and east of the town. The town is built at the base of the rocks of Meteora along the Pinio River.
Day 13: Overnight Ferry – Igoumenitsa to Ancona. After departing Igoumenitsa, one of the major seaports in Greece, you’ll take an overnight ferry to Ancona, on the Italian coast and ride to Florence, a most charming town and a favorite stop in Italy’s famous Tuscany region.
Days 14-15: Florence, Italy. We’ll have two nights to enjoy Florence, a Renaissance city in the heart of Tuscany. Florence, home to some of Italy’s best museums, beautiful cathedrals and churches, and interesting streets and squares with elegant buildings and shops, is one of the most popular cities in Italy.

Day 16: Milan. For the last riding day of your Best of the Mediterranean Adventure, you’ll ride to Milan. Motorsports fans may wish to stop at the Ferrari Museum in Moderno along the way.
Day 17: Departure from Milan. We’ll accompany you to the airport for your flight home.
Our Best of the Mediterranean Adventure affords an ideal opportunity to include non-riding companions. Tours include a large, comfortable support vehicle. Just register your guest as a passenger and let us know that you’d like us to reserve a seat in the support vehicle. Passengers will enjoy all the attractions of the Adventure.
