Ayres Adventures - Escape to Ushuaia

Lago Pehoe

Our 25-Day Escape to Ushuaia Adventure begins in Montevideo, Uruguay and ends in Pucon, Chile. This Adventure is not an "expedition". More than 95% of the route is paved and that which is not is generally hard-packed gravel that is in good condition. The trip is suitable for two-up riding.

Southbound attractions include:Cabo Dos Bahias Penguin Colony

  • Buenos Aires - "The Paris of South America"
  • Mar del Plata - Argentina's most popular beach resort
  • Peninsula Valdez - one of South America's finest wildlife reserves and a UNESCO World Heritage Site that is home to sea lions, elephant seals, penguins, guanacos, and many other forms of wildlife
  • The penguin colony at isolated Cabo Dos Bahias, where you'll walk among thousands of penguins
  • Puerto San Julian, where the name "Patagonia" came to be while Magellan and his crew spent the winter in the town's harbor in 1520. Sir Francis Drake, Charles Darwin and Francisco de Viedma have also visited this interesting town.

Ushuaia BridgeRiders will spend three nights in Ushuaia - the southernmost settlement in the world. More than simply a destination to be recorded in a log book, Ushuaia is a great base for additional two-wheeled excursions.

The stop at "El Fin Del Mundo" will provide time to explore this marvelous part of theBeagle Channel Seal Colony world, including Tierra del Fuego National Park.  Other potential side trips include aride to Puerto Harberton - and beyond - to the southernmost point in the world to which it's possible to ride a motorcycle.

Riders will also cruise the Beagle Channel south of the Straights of Magellan to photograph seals, sea lions, and penguins. There will also be plenty of time to enjoy the town's restaurants and shopping opportunities.

On the return trip, riders will visit Chile's famous Torres del Paine National Park, where they will stay at a small hotel situated on an island on one of the park's shimmering lakes.

Perito Moreno GlacierProceeding north from Torres del Paine, guests will visit the Perito Moreno Glacier, one of the largest and most impressive glaciers in the world, where huge chunks of ice "calve" and crash into the water regularly.

The trip ends in Pucon, one of the most popular resorts in Chile's Lake District.
